Using a Web Developer for More Than a New Website

There are multiple situations where you may want to consider pulling in a website developer, not just to build a website. Web developers are familiar with the inner workings of websites, obviously. This means website functionality, email integration, social media automatic posting, page navigation, and more.

Even after your website is live, here are a few situations where it may be a good idea to call a web developer.

Website Evaluations

Having your website evaluated by a web developer can be a good way to find broken links, navigation problems, and areas that may need to be fixed or revised. There are a few different focuses for website evaluations that you can request, instead of a comprehensive look. While evaluations may be a once-in-a-while thing, having your website evaluated at least annually is a good idea.

User Experience

A user experience evaluation focuses on how your customers interact with your website. This can include content and technical evaluation. The technical part looks at the website’s links, navigation, buttons, and functionality. The content looks at the web content on the pages, placement, and cohesiveness to the rest of the website. This is a good way to find out if customers are leaving your site due to technical problems or lack of persuasion

Functionality

Evaluating a website’s functionality is a detailed process that is good for uncovering any broken links, buttons, or random errors that can cause customers to leave without booking or purchasing your product/service. Web developers will also look into any integrations to make sure that they work as expected.

New Features

Are you launching a new digital product or course? Is this new thing going to interact with your website and possibly change how customers use it? You should probably talk to a web developer before hitting “start”.

Integrating new products, launching an e-newsletter, or incorporating ads into your website can potentially impact your website’s functionality. Before adding any integrations or software to your website, contact the person that maintains your website, or give us a call. A web developer can quickly spot problems and prevent your website from breaking. And, if something does not work the way it’s supposed to, a web developer is someone that can more easily find a solution. IT and web developers are not the same tech gurus (see the post explaining that more). Call us to have one of our web developers on hand to block Murphy’s Law.

Tech Support

As mentioned above, IT and Web developers are not necessarily the same people. If your business relies on your online presence, or even just has a website, have someone available who can troubleshoot and fix issues when they come up.

Triple Mountain Marketing does offer website support plans that are for this reason. Monthly plans that take care of software updates, tech support, and general maintenance at a reasonable cost starting at $25 per month. Tech support is important to have in a world where technology is everywhere and part of everything. If you don’t have support for your website, contact us before something doesn’t work.
